It is the new year, and its time to try something different. I’m a kid of the internet generation and its time to start taking advantage of all those things if I want this business to be 100% of my source of income in the next two years.
I know I am amazing, and I hope you think so too. It’s just all those other silly people who don’t know about me yet! So here I am, starting on a new track to find clients. Yelp, Thumbtack, Pinterest… Who else? I’m talking to you! Let me know, cause I’m heading down these roads. Word of mouth will only take you so far, and I’m serious because I love what I do!
So check me out on
And if you have a minute be so kind and leave me some lovely words! I will love you forever, even more than I already do!
Thanks and just cause everything is better with a photo, heres some loving in the rain.
Willa and Mike were married on New Years Eve at the Overlook Lodge on Bear Mountain. We lucked out with a beautiful December day, so naturally we were outdoors for a lot of photos, which is sometimes hard to get for the chilly winter wedding months. So I was even more excited! It was an amazing night and a beautiful way to bring in the new year… with two people who love each other and their families and friends around being wonderful. As always there are tons more on the Facebook page!
Wedding Coordination/Florals: Jeanne Stark of Hudson Valley Ceremonies (so nice, so talented!)
Kris and Bill were married surrounded by their closest family and friends this December in a beautiful little chapel across from Tompkins Square Park in New York City. It was beautiful and filled with love. The ceremony followed on the Bateaux Glass Ship on Pier 61 where they with their guests gathered for delicious food, drinks and amazing views of New York City’s skyline and the statue of liberty (which I have to let you know is in NJ!) It was a bitterly freezing day, but we toughed it out (I, of course, forgot my jacket!) for some amazing photos!
Louana and Adam were married in November at the Royal Manor in Hackensack. It was a beautiful day, and a gorgeous church, a crazy party and an all around good time. And who doesn’t love a good time?!
The wonderful and ever so talented Karl Mattson came and assisted and second shot with me. He is the best!
I am terrible at blogging. We know this. So here is one from tonight while I remember!

I definitely don’t post here enough, I’ve heard your website is your handshake, and your blog is your personality. I think I need a little bit more of that. I’ve just been moving along, trying to keep up with a steady work schedule and to have a little extra fun, now that the sun is out and my hair is blonde! But I have a lot of catching up to do!
So I figure, if this is my personality… than I should be updating more steadily, showing you who I am. So here are 10 things you might not know about me.
1. My name is Lisa Francine, and I was named after my mother’s childhood best friend, who once gave me the coolest red-headed barbie doll ever.
2. My hair is a wild ball of kinks and curls, and everyone asks if its naturally like this. Of course, even if that person asking sometimes is my grandmother! I don’t think anyone would actually choooose this type of hairstyle if they were given a choice. Its too crazy sometimes but I love it.
3. Compliments given to me in person about my work make me feel awkward. They are totally appreciated and I LOVE them, but I can’t figure out how to accept one without feeling weird. I wasn’t given positive attention my whole life so hearing it makes me feel strange… super appreciative, but strange.
4. Led Zeppelin is my favorite band. 1965 Mustang is my dream car. And warm chocolate chip cookies are delicious.
5. I’m still learning everyday, and hope that never changes. I always want to know about new technologies and what I can do to improve. Although I graduated from University with a degree in photography, I was never taught anything about what I do now. I was always guided towards more conceptual art (which I’ve never identified with), and pushed away from what I had always loved doing, photographing children. I was never taught about the differences between lenses, how to use a flash, what ISO was, how to speak to clients, own a business, nothing like I have taught myself in the past year that I’ve been out of school.
6. I’m kind of a movie snob. I see lots of movies that are funny, and sufficient. But I’m very good at deciphering plots so its a bit ruined for me. Its uncommon for me to walk out of a theater thinking “That was great!” I wish this was different.
7. I’m terrified of going into water that I can’t see, and refuse to go out where I can’t stand. The only times I have done this were once while jetskiing in a lake, and the other when I was in my faaaaavorite place in the world, Bocas del Toro, Panama (I would move to a shack on the beach in an instant if it meant I could live there) and 100 feet out and 100 feet deep, the water was crystal clear and starfish lined the ocean’s bottom. Isn’t that funny, in shark infested waters as long as I can see its fine, but in 10 feet of lake water I am NOT okay….? I’m weird.
8. I am obsessed with my goddaughter and love her to bits and pieces. She’s rounding her terrible two’s stage, but she is still so beautiful and I love her so much I sometimes (embarrassingly) cry cause its just overwhelming.
9. I have the funniest group of friends a girl could ask for. We’ve been together over a decade (more for most of us) and although we can each be our own kind of pain in the butt, being with us is sort of like seeing a comedy act.
10. I would do this for the rest of my life for free if life didn’t cost money to live. If I had no need for money, shelter, and was given everything I needed for the rest of my life, I would still chose to do this. I can’t wait to see where I am in five years.
Lisa and Jeff were married this weekend at the Bernards Inn in Bernardsville, NJ. The moment I met Lisa (the day of when I shyly knocked on her door) I could feel her warmth and felt welcomed by everyone involved in the wedding. They had a small wedding of less then 50 of their closest friends and family and it was honestly so beautiful! You could see (and actually feeeeeel) their love, and thats my favorite thing in the world! Lisa and Jeff you guys are beautiful and I couldn’t stop laughing with you guys all night (my favorite kind of wedding)
. Congratulations!
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Thank you for capturing such special moments on such a special day. You talent shines through. Great job Lisa! xoxo
Lisa, Oh My Goodness! I’m not sure where to start other than to say we absolutely love our pictures!
You captured those magical moments (and I didn’t even know you were looking)! So, I guess everytime you took a picture and said “that’s perfect” you were right! :)
We can’t wait to see MORE!
Continue to share your talent with the world! You make people happy!
